A starting point for calculating the fee will often be the number of hours spent multiplied by the lawyer's hourly rate for the type of work in question. The fee may also depend on the type of case, the financial scope of the case, the value of the dispute, the degree of difficulty and need for special expertise, the importance of the case to the client and the result. If the assignment is clearly defined, a fixed price can be agreed.
The hourly rate and scope of the assistance are agreed before the work begins, and confirmed in an assignment confirmation. At the same time, it must be clarified whether the assistance can be covered in whole or in part by the client's insurances.
